Make your bet, and you're dealt two cards. If you think you can get closer to 21 without going over, have the dealer give you another. Do you feel lucky?
Blackjack, also known as Twenty-one is a simple casino game and there are no official blackjack rules. Dependent on the casino, blackjack rules will vary.
Your goal in blackjack is to beat the dealer. Even if other players are present at the blackjack table, the dealer is your only opponent in the game. There are only two ways to beat the dealer in blackjack: get a higher total than the dealer has without going over 21, or by having the dealer go over 21 when you don't. In either case, your bet gets paid off at even odds.

Don't know when to hit or to stay put? Here are some basic tips to keep you on the plus side.
- Never hit a hand higher than hard 17.
- Never stand on a hand of 11 or less - your hand can only improve by taking another card.
- Always split Aces. Always split 8s.
- Never split 4s, 5s, 6s, or 10s.
- As a rule of thumb, assume that the dealer's down card has a value of 10.
- Never Surrender - why go down without a fight?
- Always split 8s unless the dealer's up card is 9 or 10.
- Give strong consideration to doubling down in all situations where you have 10 or 11.
- Never risk busting if the dealer's up card is a 3, 4, 5 or 6.
- It is rarely correct to stand on a total of soft 17.
- Remember that every face card that comes up tilts the remaining deck slightly in the house's favor and every 3, 4, 5, or 6 that comes out tilts the remaining deck slightly in the player's favor.
- If many Aces are dealt early, bet conservatively, since there are fewer of these highly favorable cards remaining to be dealt.
